Location
Sukko Spa Resort Phuket is located in the Chalong area in Phuket, in the south of Thailand.
Phuket town is 10 km away, and the famous Patong beach is a 45-minute drive depending on the traffic.
The international airport of Phuket is 40 kilometers north. The resort offers a free scheduled shuttle service to Central Festival Phuket, a large shopping mall in the heart of Phuket.
There is actually not that much to do in the area around the hotel. If you are looking for a beach vacation, Sukko Resort might not be the hotel of your choice.
However, when looking for absolute relaxation and outstanding spa treatments, you will feel like you are in heaven.
Room Experience
Sukko Spa Resort Phuket has 24Â Jacuzzi Spa Villas with 75 square meters each.Â
The villa’s highlights are a private Jacuzzi, a Spa area, a steam room, a sun-roof rain shower, and a wooden veranda.
It is fully equipped with everything you might need, such as coffee and tea-making facilities, a refrigerator, a bath supply, and a hairdryer.
All villas are surrounded by lush tropical greenery—a true oasis in Phuket apart from mass tourism and hectic life.
Sukko Cultural Spa
Sukko Cultural Spa has 50 standard treatment rooms for guests and outside visitors. You can choose between 14 spa packages.
However, when you are looking for a unique experience, I highly recommend the Jantra Private Spa in your private spa villa with a changing room, steam room, whirlpool, rain shower, and lavatory.
During my Sukko Spa Resort Phuket stay, I tried an aromatic body massage with warm aromatic oil. When I arrived at the villa, my therapist welcomed me and started with a foot bath.
Afterward, I went for 30 minutes in the steam room and cooled down under the rain shower. Then the best part started … a 90-minute oil massage. I decided beforehand to try out the lavender oil, a great choice!
The massage was so good that I even fell asleep for some time. That never happened before. After the spa treatment, I got fresh fruits and herbal tea.
I also tried the 3.5 hours “I love Spa” treatment. It also started with a foot bath, and after a shower, I went for 30 minutes in the steam room, and following, I relaxed for half an hour in an aromatic milk whirlpool.
The spa treatment continued with a body scrub with rose, sugar, and scrubs of my choice. In the end, I enjoyed a long oil massage. The whole treatment again took place in a private villa.
Bars and Restaurants
Next to the pool, there is the Red Chili Restaurant, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. Breakfast is either buffet style or á la carte.
The lunch buffet offers a wide range of Thai food for guests and outside visitors. Try to get a table at the window from where you have a nice view of the pool, the lush greenery, and a little pond.
Thai Cooking Class at Sukko Spa Resort Phuket
While staying at Sukko Resort, I learned how to cook Thai food. However, before we started cooking, we went to the hotel’s garden to pick the ingredients.
The resort grows almost everything, and the chefs use only fresh ingredients for cooking.
Once we had all the ingredients together, we cut everything for the different dishes and made the coconut milk ourselves.
Everything is fresh and with traditional methods! It is more work but makes the food so much better.
The chef taught me how to cook Fried Chicken with Cashew Nut, Tom Yam Koong (Thai Prawn Soup), and Panang Koong, a Thai curry with shrimp.
At the end of the course, I received a certificate that I had completed the Thai Cooking Class at Sukko Resort. It was entertaining and gave me an interesting insight into Thai culture.
