Getting to Mancora from Lima

1. Bus
Journey Duration: 18-22 hours
The bus ride takes about 19.5 hours and costs USD 68.
Currently, only two departures are offered daily. The buses depart in the afternoon and travel overnight to reach Mancora.
Oltursa is the only company currently operating buses on this route. You can choose your departure on one of their 160 Reclining-Seat Buses.
All buses have air conditioning and cushioned reclining seats. Bottled water and a prepared snack or meal are also available on these buses.

2. Flight + Taxi via Tumbes
Journey Duration: ~4 hours 30 minutes
Unfortunately, there are no flights that go straight to Mancora. However, you can fly to nearby airports and transfer to reach Mancora!
The quickest route is to fly to the nearby airport in Tumbes, where you can take a private taxi to Mancora.
Two daily flights are operated by LATAM, which take about 2 hours.
Once you land at Tumbes Airport you can take a taxi to Mancora! The trip takes an extra 2 hours and typically costs around USD 45.
You could also spend the night in Tumbes and travel to Mancora by local bus the next day.
3. Flight + Taxi via Piura
Journey Duration: ~5 hours 30 minutes
Alternatively, you can also book a flight to Piura!
Although the above option is the quickest way, this option is also very popular because there are many more daily flights to Piura than to Tumbes.
This route is provided by LATAM, and Sky Airlines Peru, which operate around seven flights between 05:00 AM and 08:00 PM. The journey is relatively short and takes about two hours to fly.
Once you arrive at the airport, you can take a taxi that will take you directly to Máncora or take a taxi for five minutes into central Piura, from where various bus companies depart all day to Máncora.
It will take three hours to drive from Piura to Máncora.
4. Rental Car
Journey Duration: 19 hours
And lastly, if you’re comfortable behind the wheel, you can rent a car in Lima and drive yourself to Mancora!
I personally prefer thismoption when I have time. It’s an adventurous way to get to Mancora and I especially like that you can make stops and explore places along the way.
In Lima, you can find low and reasonable car rental rates that are well worth the expense of this lengthy trip.
