2. Private Transfer
Journey Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
A private transfer to Valladolid might be your best option if you prefer more comfort and flexibility.
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Merida at your preferred time. Making stops on the way is often also possible for an additional charge.
This is a good option for groups or families, since the more passengers there are, the better the price. The price-per-passenger becomes very affordable once the vehicle cost is split among the group.
We recommend asking your hotel reception for a private transfer recommendation.
3. Shared Shuttle
Do you want more comfort than traveling by bus but do not have the budget for a private transfer?
A shared van shuttle might be a good compromise. Many travel agencies and tour operators in Merida offer shared van shuttle services from Merida to Valladolid.
Shared van shuttles are less crowded than buses, but also slightly more expensive. While the shuttle leaves at fixed times, you will still get picked up and dropped off at your hotel, which is a bonus!
Ask your hotel for a reliable agency or recommendation, and book a seat on a shared shuttle from Merida to Valladolid!
4. Rental Car
Journey Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
Traveling by rental car is an excellent option if you want to make day trips from Valladolid or make some stops on the way!
The drive takes only 2 hours and 15 minutes, and you’ll be free to explore and make stops along the way! You can even explore nearby sites or cities and go on an authentic Mexican adventure at an affordable price.
We recommend booking a rental car online in advance for better prices and a more comprehensive selection of vehicles!
5. Uber or Taxi
You can also take a taxi or Uber to Valladolid.
This is usually a last-minute option for travelers, and I recommend it if you have no other choice.
Other alternatives, such as private transfers or a bus, are much more convenient, but if you have no other option and you’re traveling at the last minute, you can find a taxi to take you to Valladolid.
Just make sure to negotiate a price before your departure, and ask for a reliable taxi company from a local or your hotel to avoid getting scammed.
