Tarek El Mahdy

Tarek El Mahdy is the owner and founder of Dabuka, a Cairo-based travel company running tailor-made journeys across Egypt since 1996, with 18 years of experience running tours in Libya as well as in Sudan. Over three decades, he has built direct, on-the-ground expertise across North Africa and the Middle East, from Cairo and the Nile Valley to the Western Desert's remote oases, and hands-on experience organizing eclipse travel, including the 2006 total solar eclipse in Salloum, Libya. He loves sharing insider knowledge that goes beyond the standard tourist trail, the places, timing, and small details that make a trip to this region feel personal rather than scripted.
